Mechanical rooms located in between occupied floors, alongside Cooling Towers on the roof level, presented a challenge from an acoustic point of view. Advice on the most suitable means of noise and vibration control was provided, including inertia bases, floating floor and wall upgrades which prevented flanking noise transmission. With verification acoustic tests conducted; operation of chillers, pumps, air handling units, etc. was virtually non-audible in the adjacent office spaces.
